Unit 3 reflection
We learned to recognize the different types of tests; this will be very useful for us as teachers to apply the correct test to our students and class´ needs.
We have realized that it is important at the beginning of the course to diagnose our students in order to measure their general, or in some cases specific, knowledge.
And also in this course we have seen the characteristics of the test, this will be important to produce and apply tests correctly.
These characteristics including reliability and validity require of some procedures to say a test is reliable and valid, they have to do with statisticc what sometimes teachers do not do it because of time and lack of knowledge. However, we have to be aware of these important concepts and at least be sure we are testing what we have to test and nothing else (validity) and that we are scoring a test the most objectively we can. Objective tests are the most reliable but sometimes do know help see the students are acquiring communicative skills.
